Moonlit Lake

from Lonely World by Mike LeRoy

/

about

The lyrics were written last year, on my first real camping trip. It's funny how a change of scenery can inspire!

lyrics

A hammock on a rocky hill.
I lay next to a river, still.
The sun crosses horizon line,
through forests, Adirondack Pine.
The moon breaks through the summers day.
As I think with the hammocks sway.
Fun is only what you make.
Down at Sacandaga Lake.

People fishing on the pier,
let me know the summer's near.
The times I used to spend alone,
back before my bird had flown
The stars up in the moonlit sky
make a bachelor child cry,
Fun is only what you make.
Down at Sacandaga Lake.
